Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal

Dr. Chinnia Subramanian, the past President of Edmonton Tamil Cultural Association is one of the proud recipients of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal.

Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal is a new commemorative medal that has been created to mark the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. The Medal program will be part of the Platinum Jubilee year celebrations, organized by the Government of Alberta. The Council of India Societies of Edmonton (CISE) is one of the broad ranges of program partners invited by the Government of Alberta to submit nominations.

At the award presentation ceremony, the Council of India Societies of Edmonton (CISE) referred Dr. Subramanian’s attributes as “ as the President of Edmonton Tamil Cultural Association, he always advocated for multiculturalism and all – inclusive approach. He has a total of over 120 publications including three books and four patents, numerous technical reports to clients; invited speaker in conferences.

Since Dr. Subramanian is not in the country, on 28th of February 2023, at India’s Republic Day celebrations at CISE auditorium, Mr. Rajendran Rengaraj, the treasurer of executive committee of Edmonton Tamil Cultural Association received the award on behalf of Dr. Subramanian.

The Current President of Edmonton Tamil Cultural Association Mr. Ravi Subramaniam, in his speech at the association’s Thai Pongal Celebration has mentioned that he is so proud to see one of his closed associates receive such prestigious award. He further said that Dr. Subramanian is very bold and dedicated leader who has unity in diversity in his heart.
